Ninth-placed DVSC visit the MOL Arena Sóstó

The first home game of the year will kick off at 19:30 on Saturday evening.

On Saturday 5th February 5 at 19:30, DVSC will visit the MOL Arena Sóstó. Debrecen are in ninth place in the table going into the game.

Loki were relegated from the NB I in the 2019/2020 season, but managed to bounce back immediately the following season under the coaching duo of Szabolcs Huszti and Gábor Toldi, who left Vidi in 2021. Loki also started the 2021/2022 season in the NB I with these two coaches, but after the 10th round, the Debrecen team changed their manager. Since last November, they have been managed by Joan Carrillo, who won the league title with Vidi, and under his leadership DVSC have won once, lost twice and drawn three times. The only Loki win so far has come against league leaders FTC. Our Saturday opponents started 2022 with a 0-0 draw at home against Kisvárda.

This weekend will be the first competitive match in which our former coach will manage against Vidi, but in January 2018, in Spain, we faced the Catalan coach in a preparation match, when we lost 1-0 to Wisła Kraków.

The winter pre-season didn't go as planned in Debrecen either, Joan Carrillo's team played only two training matches due to illness, but won both of them without even conceding a goal: they won 4-0 against Kazincbarcika (NB III) and 1-0 against FK Minaj (Ukrainian top division). DVSC's top scorer with nine goals, is Roland Ugrai and he found the net in both games.

The winter transfer period has so far been quiet in Debrecen, with only Krisztián Németh leaving and the arrival of North Macedonian Dorian Babunszki, who is also a striker.
