Vidi were in friendly action on Saturday afternoon in the first game since the season was suspended.
63 days after the Hungarian league season against DVTK, our team played a football match again, at the home of ZTE FC on Saturday afternoon in a friendly meeting. Joan Carrillo sent the following eleven out: Kovácsik - Fiola, Musliu, Vinícius, Hangya - Pátkai, Nikolov - Nego, Hodzic, Petryak - Nikolics.
The more than two-month stop was visible on both teams, there were few notable events in the first half, especially between the two boxes. The goalkeepers didn't have much to do in the early exchanges. In the 20th minute, Kovácsik had to save for the first time, as our goalkeeper confidently kept out a free kick. Two minutes later, Gergely Bobál curled a free kick from 22 meters just wide of our goal.
In the 31st minute, Nego fired a cheeky shot, but Demjén threw himself into the near corner and was able to keep out the slightly unexpected shot. Shortly before the end of the half, Nikolics found the home goal after Nego passed nicely to our striker, however, the referee noticed that Nego had brought Niko into play from beyond the goal line, so he did not give the goal. It was not an easy task for referee Pintér, because he led the match alone without linesmen.
At the beginning of the second half, Kovácsik was again alert in goal showing great bravery. Then in the 60th minute the home team changed their team. A few minutes later Meshack had a chance, but our goalkeeper came out of his goal at a great pace and he was able to save the effort as well.
In the 74th minute, Petryak's corner was headed back in by Musliu, and Nikolics was alert to score the goal as he found the back of the ZTE net following a nice move (0-1).
Our team played the last quarter hour in the following line-up: Kovácsik - Tamás, Rus, Juhász, Stopira - Elek, Nyári - Funsho, Milanov, Zsóri - Szabó.
In the 81st minute, McWood curled the ball from 12 yards towards the top left corner, but Kovácsik acrobatically tipped the ball out from under the bar with an impressive save. In the remaining minutes, the result did not change, and our team won 1-0 at the home of ZTE. At 11 a.m. on Sunday morning, we will play against Budafok in the MOL Arena Sóstó in what will be the second friendly game of the weekend.
