It was good to see Roland Juhasz back in action, following a period out with injury. His last competitive game was the league match at Győr on the 25th August. Filipe Oliveira also took his place on the bench, before coming on towards the end after an equally lengthy period out.

Vidi started the match well, going on the attack through Gyurcso and then a great Zé Luis chance, after Thiago Ryan crossed from the right. However, his powerful header went wide of the post, while his shot was well saved by the Paks keeper. Molnar in the visiting goal produced another smart save from the head of Zé Luis, with Nildo hitting the rebound towards goal, but the effort was cleared in the end. The visitors survived the early moments and went down the other end to score the first goal. Konyves found himself clear of the defenders and kept his cool to slot the ball past Tujvel.

A high ball forward, two minutes later, was met by Delczeg, who remained calm to deceive Tujvel and make it 2-0 to Paks. Vidi continued to press forward in search of chances, but were met by a defensive wall from the visitors. The set pieces did not cause any real danger in the visiting box. Tujvel did well to save from a ball into the middle on 33 minutes. Further action included Molnar being on hand again to deal with a Nildo shot, which the tall keeper collected on his goal line at the second attempt.

Vidi began the second half at a great pace, but it was the visitors who found the back of the net. Bartha's close range strike and a curling shot from Delczeg made the score 0-4 after 52 minutes. The home side continued to hit long balls forward in search of Zé Luis and Juhasz, who by now had been pushed forward to give more options in front of the Paks goal. However, the visiting defenders either stepped in to clear the danger, or Vidi could not find the back of the net. That changed on 67 minutes when Gyurcso's corner was headed in by Zé Luis to make it 1-4 in this league cup group match.

The remaining 25 minutes continued with Vidi going on the attack, but these moves did not result in a goal. Paks saw out the rest of the match by playing comfortable football, with the score remaining the same. Videoton are currently in second place in Group E with 7 points. That is the same amount as Kozarmisleny, while Vidi will have to battle their way through to the next stage by winning at Dunaujvaros on the 20th November.
