Videoton took an early lead through Hadzic but had to settle for a point in the end.
Match 10 of the OTP bank league season was played on Saturday evening at the Pancho Arena. Bp. Honved were the opponents and Vidi went into the game top of the league and also missing both Lanzovic and Nego through suspension.
Vidi started very well and took the lead after 3 minutes. Henty went down the left and the ball eventually fell into the path of Hadzic, who made no mistake with a sweet low shot (1-0).
Henty remained in the thick of the action as he outpaced a Honved defender 10 minutes later. His ball into the centre was well cleared by Honved's Holender. Half way through the first half, Henty this time went down the right and found Scepovic with a fine ball. The Serbian forward curled the ball against the foot of the left post as Vidi missed a good chance!
There was 28 minutes on the clock when Lanzafame curled a free kick into the hands of Kovacsik in the Vidi goal. Henty did almost the same from another free kick at the other end moments later. Honved levelled on 40 minutes: Holender received the ball and shot at goal from 18 meters, and his unstoppable shot nestled in the back of the net to make it 1-1.
It was the visitors that started the second half the more active. A 47th minute Bano-Szabo shot was saved by Kovacsik. A Gazdag cross minutes later ended with Fiola squeezing out Eppel, and both fell to the floor but the referee waved play on. The same happened 5 minutes later at the other end with Kovacs and Latifu colliding.
A fine curling shot from Suljic after 57 minutes was met by the head of Stopira. However, the effort went wide of the post as the score remained level. Substitute Szolnoki then saved well when he got his foot just ahead of Eppel in front of the goal line. Both sides were battling hard to score the winning goal but both defences were on top.
There were chances at both ends in the final moments of a good game. The first came to Honved and Bano-Szabo, whose shot was blocked by keeper Kovacsik. Then Suljic and Henty linked up before the ball fell to Varga, but he could not find the back of the net. The referee blew for full time and the sides had to settle for a point each. Vidi are next in action away at DVTK next weekend.
