José Gomes: "We would have deserved to have gone through"

The two managers spoke to the media following Wednesday's cup match in Miskolc.

José Gomes: We played in a very good match on a hard pitch in unbelievable weather conditions. If I said that I was ashamed of the way we performed after Sunday's match, then I have to say the opposite following today's match. I am proud of the way we played and can only praise the team. We had five very good chances, with just the keeper saving them in four of those. Sadly we did not convert these chances. We wanted to dedicate today's game to Caneira, who suffered a family bereavement during the week, and also to Mamadu, who sadly lost his father on Sunday. Unfortunately we could not do this, but the two players showed great humanity in the way they played in today's game, and for the way they remained with the team. We deserved to go through tonight.

Tomiszlav Szivics: This was adult stuff! Over the last two weeks when we were better than our opponents, but did not win, we got something back today as we were not better, but in the end we have gone through. We changed our system compared to recent matches and we could notice that. Vidi had 3-4 big chances in the first half, but Rajic saved very well. I am proud of the team, and I would like to congratulate them for their performance over the autumn season. We are still involved in all three competitions.
