José Gomes: We had the chances but we could not convert them

The two managers spoke to the gathered media shortly after the final whistle.

José Gomes: There were two completely different parts to the match. We started the game well, having good solutions to the attacks, but we could not convert these chances. The main problem was evident later, when we could not get hold of the second balls, and the first goal came as a result of this. We built good attacks up in the second half, but the home side counter attacked really well, and we made defensive mistakes, leaving big spaces at the back, which they took advantage of. This was the key factor and they ended up winning by a two goal margin. We had chances, but unfortunately we could not score from them. What is the reason for this? I am sure that it is not because the players did not want to win, because they wanted to. I am coping well with the pressure, as I have been a coach for 20 years and this is part of life.

Bekő Balázs: We prepared for a big battle with Vidi, to make sure that they could not play their passing game, which they are perhaps the best in within Hungary. We put the emphasis on getting hold of the second ball, and it was a deciding factor in the end as these balls fell to us. We played with lots of heart and determination today. We took the lead and then hit them with counter attacks. This worked well for us as Vidi had to take gambles. We took advantage of the chances that came our way, and I would like to congratulate my players! There were several good performances out there, so I would not like to pick any of them out individually. You can compensate for quality with enthusiasm, and for players to make the right decisions at key moments was a plus and we did not make a mistake with this today.
