José Gomes: We deservedly won against a very good team

The two managers spoke to the gathered press following Saturday's league match.

José Gomes: We played in a very difficult match, against very good opponents who had a change of manager during the week. This resulted in their players wanting to prove themselves to the new manager, and show what they are capable of. We played well as we managed to play into the open areas, and we also succeeded in filtering out the home side’s attacks. There were periods during the match, which were a little boring, but we deserved to win overall and pick up the three points. Honved have talented young players, who play with organization and discipline, and they have the quality within them to do well in the remaining league matches.

Simon Miklós: I am disappointed as I believed that we would get a point. It was not a nice match, in front of a very small crowd, with tactical battles going on around the pitch. We tried to spoil Vidi's play, and if we are a little fortunate, we could have gone in at the break at 0-0. We conceded an unbelievable goal in the 43rd minute. Some of the young players were a little bit too nervous, and it is very hard to play without confidence, and especially to win. We need to carry on and I hope that we will do better in our next game. The future Honved has been building for year’s now but as we could see today, once they pick up experience in the first division, they can become useful to the team.
