The Vidi manager gave his reaction to Thursday's pre-season friendly.
Although NK Osijek, who were training in Muraszentmárton, took the lead in the second half, Budu Zivzivadze quickly equalised and the score remained the same. Imre Szabics gave his reaction after the full time whistle.
“Unfortunately, we went behind because of silly and carelessness, but all in all I liked the game today. The team came back well after the goal and I felt that we dominated the game before that. We could have won the game, and in the end we saw a give and take battle on the pitch, and Osijek had a chance to score, so I would say it was a fair result.”
We also asked our manager about what lies ahead for the squad ahead of next week's Conference League match against Ararat Yerevan.
"We've already said that we've had a bit of a slow preparation in terms of players arriving or still arriving due to the national team, which is why we've had a lot of youngsters working with us in the last few weeks. Budu Zivzivadze, Adrián Rus and Stopira joined us later, and the five players who took part in the European Championship will start working with the team on Sunday. It is natural that they will have to catch up with the others, because they have been given some time off after the European Championship, so they will understandably be at a disadvantage compared to the others, and we will have to balance that so that everyone is available. We'll see if we have to use one of these five players for the home game against Ararat, but if we don't have to, they won't play in the first game..”
