PRESS CONFERENCE

"Hopefully next year these matches will go our way"

Tamás Pető and Gábor Erős analyzed the match, which ended in a 2-0 win for the visitors.

Tamás Pető:

"We started the match very well; in the first 10 minutes, we had two scoring opportunities that, had we capitalized on them with slightly better decision-making, could have put us in the lead. After that, the game was very even; both teams had chances, but with no major scoring opportunities. We had two more chances at the end of the first half; again, with just a bit better decision-making in front of the goal, we could have taken the lead. Then in the second half, I think we were absolutely better than Vasas. We played better, but that’s how football goes: if you don’t capitalize on the opportunities that come your way, sooner or later you’ll be punished. Vasas managed to score from two counterattacks—hopefully next year these matches will go our way. I can’t criticize my team, because we played well overall; in terms of quality, we would have more than held our own in the first division. Congratulations to Vasas on their promotion, and special congratulations to my friend Gabi Erős—I wish him every success in NB I!"

Gábor Erős:

"First and foremost, I’d like to thank the owners, sports director Miklós Nagy, all the players, and the coaching staff for their hard work in securing promotion. In this match, Videoton proved they’re a very good team; they played with great organization. We needed a little luck to win the match; perhaps in a different scenario, if they had been lucky, they would have won. It was more of a draw, but luck was slightly on our side. Of course, we’re very happy about the three points and the promotion that comes with them. I wish Fehérvár continued success and hope that next year they will achieve the goal that the club deserves."
