Honved's new manager will take charge of his side for the first time in the league against Vidi

The Budapest side have not performed as had been expected so far appointed Jozsef Csabi as their new head coach last week.

Budapest Honved finished last season in ninth place, which saw their Italian manager Marco Rossi, who had managed them for 2 years leave the club. Miklos Simon replaced him until the end of the season, and he made his debut on their bench against Vidi, in a match that ended in a 1-0 win thanks to a goal from Stopira.

Former World Cup and European Champions winner Pietro Vierchowod took charge of Honved in June. They kicked off the season with a 3-0 win over Dunaújváros, which was followed by three defeats. They then beat Puskas in the fifth league match of the season and they did the same against Haladas in week 7 of the current campaign. A single point was picked up in the next five games, which resulted in the Italian coach resigning. He has been replaced by Jozsed Csabi, who recently departed Nyiregyhaza as their head coach. He will make his debut against Vidi on the manager’s bench on Sunday.

He took charge of Honved in their Hungarian cup match against Ferencvaros during the week, suffering defeat in the penalty shootout. Honved currently sit in 12th place in the OTP league table, having scored 9 goals and conceded 15 in return. Their top scorer is Youla Souleymane with 3 goals to his name.

Honved won the last league game at the Sostoi back in October 2013. They returned to Budapest with a 2-1 win.
