FC Vaduz are the visitors on Thursday evening

The team play their league football in the Swiss league and will be Vidi's Q2 opponents.

There were no goals for a long time in the games between Vaduz and Icelandic side Breidablik. We had to wait until the 56th minute of the second leg for the breakthrough. Vaduz player Mohamed Coulibaly scored that goal for the team from Liechtenstein. Schwizer later extended the lead but Gunnlaugson scored a late consolation, but it was Vaduz who made it through to the next round.

They most recently finished in 6th place and won all of their cup games by a single goal. They are regular participants in Europe, and there have only been 4 times since 1992 when it was not them that qualified for European football. However, they have never made it beyond Q3. The last three years have seen Danish side Midtjylland, Norwegians Odd and Lithuanian’s Zalgriris Vilnius end their dreams. The transfermarkt.de website values their squad at 6 million euros. Some 5,45 million euros of that covers their 26 man squad but three of those were unable to play against Breidablik due to injury. Highest valued player is Yannick Schmidet and Dominik Schwizer, who are both valued at 500,000€. Top goalscorer (and top of the Canadian Table), is neither of them, but Milan Gajic, who scored 9 times in 2018-19 and provided 5 assists. Another player up there is Benin player Dossou. It is interesting that in June, the Liechtenstein international squad included only three players from Vaduz with the majority coming from rivals. Eschen/Mauren and Balzer provided 7 each. Mario Frick is their manager and he was capped 125 times by his country. His sons. Yanik and Noah have also gone on to make their debuts, with the later playing for Vaduz. Our opponents have play a Hungarian side once, which came in 2006 when they came from 1-0 first leg defeat to win 4-0 in the second.
