Videoton recorded back to back 4-0 away wins in the OTP league on Saturday afternoon. Looking at the position in the league table of both sides, it would have taken a brave man to predict anything other than an away win. However, Egri did go into the game having knocked out Győri ETO in the league cup during the week. They scored 7 goals in that two-legged tie against the league leaders, so perhaps that was a sign that things would not be that easy.

The game began very well for Videoton, with the visitors creating several early chances in front of the home goal. Kovacs fed Nikolics with a lovely ball after 10 minutes, and the striker hit the post with his effort, before the defender cleared the danger for a corner. Alvarez took the resulting corner, which found the head of Szekeres, who rose well to give Vidi the lead. It was the tall defenders first goal in competitive football for Videoton since his move from MTK last season.

Alvarez showed some good skills on the right a couple of minutes after the goal, with his cross finding the head of Nikolics, who headed just wide of the target. Egri's Rakovic then handled on 16 minutes and the match official gave Videoton a free kick, just outside the box. Brachi showed tremendous awareness to curl the ball past the stranded Sztanko, which extended Vidi's lead. The goal gave Vidi a comfortable early two-goal cushion, which meant that they could be more adventurous when going forward. Alvaro Brachi stood behind the ball in the 20th minute, with another free kick from a similar position to the one he had scored from previous. This time Vidi's right back went for the other side, which resulted in the ball just missing the top corner. Another three minutes passed before Vidi found themselves with yet another chance. Kovacs supplied Nikolics with a lovely ball, and the striker headed just over the bar from 8 meters out. Alvarez received an injury just before half time, and he required treatment before being forced to come off. Adam Gyurcso came on in his place on the right hand side of midfield.

There was little change to the pattern of play after half time, with Vidi continuing to comfortably dictate things out on the pitch, which was proving difficult to play good football on, due to the bad condition of it. Gyurcso took a corner on 48 minutes, but Szekeres was unable to find the back of the net with that chance. Nikolics showed great movement after 54 minutes, before lifting the ball delicately over the Egri keeper, but the hard working forward saw his shot come back off the bar, which fell kindly to Szekeres who made no mistake from close range to make it 0-3.  Paraiba then released Kovacs on the hour mark, and the young midfielder kept his composure to shoot low past the keeper to complete the score and make it 0-4

Nikolics was doing everything in front of goal, putting in plenty of hard work, but luck avoided him when it came to scoring, hitting the woodwork twice, and having several good chances, but keeper Sztanko was on hand to deal with them. The three points pushed José Gomes' side into the top three, as they leapfrogged Debrecen, who play Pecs on Sunday. Both Győri ETO and MTK, who sit in first and second place, won their league games to maintain their grip on the top. The 4-0 win means that Vidi have now won two consecutive away league games by the same scoreline. It also suggests that the men from Fehervar are really beginning to find their form early on, and will prove a very difficult opponent for any side they meet.
