The home side secured all three points thanks to Bence Lőrincz’s second-half goal to leave Vidi empty handed.
In the 8th round of the Merkantil Bank Liga NB II, Vidi travelled to face FC Nagykanizsa. Head coach Tamás Pető fielded the following starting line-up: Hársfalvi – Köllő, Kelemen, Spandler – Kojnok, Murka, Bedi, Zsótér, Ekbauer – Németh, Nagy Z.

Vidi, in an all white kit, started the match more actively; in the 6th minute, Bedi just failed to reach Németh’s cross from the left, and our shot was then blocked. A few seconds later, the home goalkeeper tipped Bedi’s header from a corner kick over the bar, and following a cross from Zsótér, Németh headed the ball, which ended up in the goalkeeper’s hands. In the 9th minute, following a cross from the right, we blocked Kapornai’s shot for a corner. The early action continued In the 12th minute, Zsótér rolled the free-kick to Murka, who shot just over the bar. In the 21st minute, the home side launched a dangerous-looking counter-attack, at the end of which Zsolnai shot well wide.
In the 26th minute, after a cross from the right by Kojnok, Bedi’s header went wide; a minute later, Nagy’s header also failed to find the target. In the 31st minute, Bence Kovács led the ball towards Hársfalvi from the halfway line for the home side, but Zsótér made a superb last-ditch tackle. The home player slid into him in the process, and the injured Zsótér unfortunately had to be substituted, with Dominik Nagy coming on in his place. The first half ended in a goalless draw. Nagykanizsa took the lead unexpectedly from their first chance of the second half: in the 54th minute, Bence Lőrincz picked up the ball between our defenders before turning and firing a shot into the top corner (1–0). Erik Kovács came on for Ekbauer, and in the 68th minute, Zoárd Nagy headed over the bar following a cross from the left. In the 77th minute, Bartusz came on for Kojnok; and in the 83rd, Dominik Nagy’s free-kick went just over the bar. In the 90th minute, Attila Lőrincz was shown his second yellow card, giving us a one-man advantage for the five minutes of added time. Kelemen’s shot was blocked for a corner, and right at the end Hársfalvi pulled off a superb save at the end of a home counter-attack, but the final score remained 1–0.
Our team now faces a lengthy international break; our next match is on 10 October, when we take on Szentlőrinc.
