A draw in the final friendly match before the season opener

There were no goals in the first half, but Ujpest took the lead midway through the second period, with Nikolics levelling close to the end.

The fourth and final summer pre-season match saw Ujpest visit the Sostoi stadium. There were over 1500 present inside the stadium to watch the friendly. The first chance fell to Ujpest after 4 minutes, with Vasziljevics blasting the ball over from 13 meters. Kovacs laid the ball into the path of new Vidi signing Adam Simon a minute later, and the midfielder tried his luck but did not hit the target from 25 meters out.

The tempo slowed in the period that followed, which was perhaps understandable taking into consideration the intense heat, which also saw a water break midway through the first period. Kleinheisler tried his luck with two long range efforts, but both shots went wide of the post. A Gyurcso free kick on 37 minutes from the edge of the box required a good save from keeper Balajcza to tip the chance over the bar for a corner.

There were changes by both managers at half time, with Joan Carrillo bringing on 5 substitutes, while his Ujpest counterpart sent on 2 players. Kleinheisler hit a volley after 48 minutes following a cross from the wing, while 7 minutes later, Oliveira showed good skill inside the box, before curling a sweet shot just wide of the mark. Ujpest went ahead on the hour after scoring from a good chance with Balazs Balogh making no mistake when clean through (0-1). The lilac side then defended massively and in numbers with discipline, which made it hard to break through the back line. The equalizing goal arrived in the 89th minute, when Nikolics received a good ball, and from a tight angle, calmly found the back of the net (1-1).

Things continue next Saturday with the visit of Lombard Papa to the Sostoi stadium for the season opener.
