We preview Wednesday's Hungarian cup 6th round match against Pecs.
Videoton enter the Hungarian cup at the round 6 stage. Henning Berg's side will travel to face third division Pecs. The team from southern Hungary were playing first division football back in season 2014-15. However, problems with the license forced the Hungarian FA to demote them down to the county league. They were not the only club with Nyiregyhaza, Papa, Kecskemet and Győr all experiencing the same. Pecs managed to win the local county league to gain promotion to the third tier of football last year.
The new season has seen them win three, lose two and draw the other game. They most recently drew 0-0 with the second team of Ferencvaros. Pecs have scored nine goals in their six league games to date. Top goalscorer is Daniel Havasi, who joined them from Videoton. He has scored 3 goals so far this season.
Havasi is not the only player to have Vidi links in the Pecs team. Peter Gabor played in Vidi's Champions League Q2 away tie against Welsh side The New Saints. Their most notable player is 33 year old Krisztian Koller. He played last season for second division side ZTE. He has played for first division Nyiregyhaza the season before that.
Videoton met Pecs four times in the 2014-15 season. The red and blues won both league games and a further two in the Hungarian cup.
