Division 1: MTK - Videoton 0-3 (0-1) Alves (2), Vasziljevics
Videoton made it 7 points out of 9 as they eased to a comfortable win against MTK, on Saturday. The match was played in very hot conditions, with Vidi up against a 100% MTK, who had won their opening two games of the season. The only sour point in the game was the injury to left back Andics, who had to be stretchered off with an ankle injury.
Manager Gyorgy Mezey went for a strikeforce of Alves and Vujovics, and it was the former who put Videoton ahead. Alves was played in by Vujovics, and the Brazilian used his pace to race past the defender and shoot under the MTK keeper after 10 minutes. The home side also had several chances to score, but they were not as lethal in front of goal as Vidi.
Vidi stepped things up in the second half, and it was Alves who made the game safe after 51 minutes with his and Vidi's second goal. The red and blues followed up last weeks 3-0 home win against Vasas, with another 3-0 win, with substitute Vasziljevics slotting home after a great move by Vidi. So Mezey's side remain unbeaten to the start of the new season with two wins and a draw so far. More important is the fact that the strikers are beginning to find their feet and look dangerous in front of goal.
