The 25-year-old Dániel Bartusz, who arrives from Mezőkövesd, previously celebrated winning the NB III goal-scoring and league title as a player for Tamás Pető.
Vidi's first winter signing is a prolific striker: Dániel Bartusz, born on 29th April 2000, arrives to Székesfehérvár from Mezőkövesd.
The Hungarian-Serbian dual citizen striker trained at the UTE academy between 2017 and 2019, and in the following two years he played for Eger and then Gyöngyös in the NB III league. In the 2021/2022 season, he played for Tiszaújváros, where he finished fourth in the overall scoring list with 19 goals at the end of the season.
In the Autumn of 2022, he made his debut in NB II with Haladás, then spent a year and a half in Veszprém, where he worked with our team's head coach, Tamás Pető. In the 2022/2023 season, he won the NB III Western group league with his team, and his goal in the 96th minute of the season finale secured the league title for Veszprém. In the following season, he won the top scorer title with 21 goals and his team won the bronze medal. In the summer of 2024, he signed with Mezőkövesd, where he has scored seven goals in NB II and three goals in the cup over the past year and a half.
In his senior career so far, he has scored 7 goals in 39 games in NB II, 60 goals in 132 games in NB III, and 6 goals in 9 games in the MOL Hungarian Cup. He suffered an injury while playing for Mezőkövesd in November, so he is currently undergoing rehabilitation as a precautionary measure and is expected to return to full training in the coming weeks.
Our club has signed a 2.5-year contract with the striker, who will wear the number 28 shirt in the red and blue.
“I am very happy that we managed to reach an agreement with Mezőkövesd and Dani Bartusz. We definitely wanted to strengthen our squad in the forward position during the winter. In Dani, we have gained a striker who will strengthen our team on the pitch, and from the very first moment, it was clear that he really wanted to play for this club. He does not see Videoton as just the next step in his career, but is aware of the club's traditions and wants to be part of them. Our head coach, Tamás Pető, also knows Dani well, as he was his player in Veszprém, where he became the top scorer in NB III in 2024. I am sure that this will also help him settle in. He is a hard-working striker who is extremely goal-oriented within the 16-yard box and is at the peak of his career. I am sure he will be able to help Vidi in the long run. The club has great confidence in him, as it does in all its players, and will do everything it can to ensure that he can concentrate solely on football and prove himself on the pitch with goals and assists" said sporting director Nemanja Nikolics on our website.
We wish you every success in the Vidi shirt, Dani!
