Vidi prepared carefully for the arrival of the French

Paris Saint-Germain had fought out a hard 1-0 win over Racing in their league game before the UEFA cup second leg. Vidi drew 0-0 against Csepel in their own domestic league match. One of the heroes of Paris was missing from the teams weekend game. Jozsef Szabo was back in contention for Wednesday's cup game.

The French side did not leave anything to chance in terms of meals, bringing their own chef with them to Szekesfehervar. Their supporters had less faith in their side gaining success, than their team, with only 62 following their side to Hungary. 

It was a non working day in Hungary on the day of the match, as the country commemorated the Russian revolution of October 1917. That meant a full house at the Sostoi for the 16:30pm kick off, which the TV covered live.
