Another tough challenge awaits Imre Szabics and his team at the weekend with the visit of the OTP league champions.
FTC are the visitors to the MOL Arena Sosto on Sunday in what will be our final home league game of the season. The match will kick off at 17:00pm with Vidi hoping to pick up 3 points.
Sergei Rebrov's side clinched the league title during the week after they beat Ujpest in the Budapest derby match 3-0. It was their third consecutive title win. Ferencvaros have won 20 games this season and have drawn a further 9. There was also a single defeat with the overall goal count reading 63-19 in their favour. Top goalscorer with 12 to his name is Myrto Uzuni.
We have met FTC twice in the league this season. There was a 1-1 draw back in October in Szekesfehervar, which was followed up by a 2-0 loss away in February.
There are much better memories of our MOL Hungarian Cup tie in the same month. Vidi won 2-1 away to knock out FTC in what was a very good win to make it through to the next round.
The last 10 games when Vidi have been the home side against FTC have brought 5 wins, 3 draws and 2 defeats. Our last win was back in June in a match that was Roland Juhasz' final game as a player. He went on to score the games only goal in the 1-0 win.
