Vidi make the visit to Hungarian Cup winners Honved on Tuesday

The OTP league season continues with a midweek match away in Budapest.

Vidi will be looking to build on Saturday's home win over Kisvarda when they travel to Budapest on Tueday evening. The match will kick off at 21:05pm and Honved will be full of confidence having won the Hungarian Cup last week. They signed Tomas Tujvel from Vidi last summer. He has become one of their key players in goal this season for the team from the capital.

During the forced break due to the coronavirus, Honved changed their manager at the end of March, after the management of the club terminated the contract with head coach Giuseppe Sannino together with his staff by mutual agreement. For the time being, until the end of the season, Istvan Pisont has been appointed head coach, and it was not the first he replaced Sannino, because when the Italian coach was in voluntary quarantine for two weeks, Pisont took charge of the team in three games. During that period, Honved were beaten in the league by DVTK, and then played out two goaless draws with Paks, first in the Hungarian Cup and then in the OTP Bank League.

Under the leadership of Pisont, Honved played a 0-0 draw with MTK twice in the semi-finals of the Hungarian Cup, the red-blacks won 5-4 in the penalty shootout, and then defeated Mezokovesd 2-1 in the final last Wednesday evening in Budapest. In the championship, Honved won 3-1 against DVSC, and in the last game, the Kispest team, which lacked several key men, were defeated 1-0 at the home of Ujpest, who are battling to avoid relegation.

The most valuable player from Honved is 11-goal Davide Lanzafame, who is only one goal behind Andras Rado from Zalaegerszeg, who leads the NB I goal-scoring list. Interestingly, after Kaposvar this season, Bp. Honved have scored the second least goals in NB I, after 27 rounds Honved have only scored 28 goals.
