Vidi won Saturday's pre-season friendly game at the Sostoi with a 3-1 win.
The Videoton squad returned home from their short training camp in Austria on Friday afternoon. There was little time to rest as they were back in friendly action on Saturday, in a practice game against Debrecen in Szekesfehervar.
It was the home team that started the more active. Geresi and Haraszti saw a lot of the ball in the early exchanges. Both also tested the visiting keeper with long range shots. Debrecen had their first chance midway through the first period. Coulibaly just failed to connect with a cross by Ferenczi. A 28th minute cross from Haraszti was headed at goal from 8 meters by Feczesin, but it was saved by Verpecz.
Haraszti was again in the thick of the action moments later. He received the ball on the edge of the area, before going on a solo run down the pitch, but he could not find the finish as Verpecz did well to close down the angle. There was still time for Coulibaly to flick a free kick wide of the target as the sides went in at the break with the score at 0-0.
Videoton began the second half in fine form. Haraszti sent in a low cross on 47 minutes, which Kovacs reacted quickest to, with the midfielder scoring a fine goal with the outside of his foot from 6 meters. (1-0).
Simon sent a header wide of goal moments later as the action continued. Vidi extended their lead in the 55th minute: A Haraszti corner was flicked on by Feczesin, and defender Adam Lang made no mistake from close range to make it 2-0.
Feczesin could have increased the lead in the 58th minute. However, he slipped the ball wide of keeper Verpecz, but a defender raced back to clear his chance off the line. Debrecen came back in to the game after 65 minutes. A cross from Ferenczi was cleared by Danilovics, but the ball fell to Tisza, who found the back of the net from 7 meters to make it 2-1.
Debrecen attacked more in the remaining 20 minutes, with Varga having two headers at goal, and also finding the post, but they were unable to score a goal. There was still time on the clock for Kovacs to play Feczesin through with a fine ball, and the forward made no mistake as his slipped the ball beyond Verpecz from 10 meters to make it 3-1.
Vidi confidently beat Debrecen with three good goals in a very useful friendly game.
