Videoton turned their attention to the Hungarian cup on Wednesday, as they made the visit to Budapest, to play Honved. The quarter finals are played on a two-legged basis, and Videoton are well placed for the return leg in a week's time, having drawn this match. There was a very low turn out, despite it being a cup match, making it difficult to create a reasonable atmosphere within the stadium. There were very few chances in the first half, with Honved's Zelenka putting his side ahead after 22 minutes. He managed to convert Croatian Ivan Lovric's cross, midway through the first half.

Gyorgy Mezey made several changes at the break bringing on Nikolics and Polonkai, while Gosztonyi came on later in the second half. The substitutions paid off as Vidi equalised following a cross from Gosztonyi, which ended up at the feet of Nikolics, who made no mistake from close range. Andras Gosztonyi could have won the match for Videoton four minutes later, but his effort was saved by the Honved keeper.

So both teams will now meet next Wednesday, with the winners going through to the semi-finals. The eventual winners of the Hungarian cup will qualify for the Europa league in the summer.
