Vasas have picked up 6 points in their first two league games

Vasas are the visitors to the Pancho Arena on Sunday with the Budapest side currently at the top of the OTP league table.

Vasas FC secured their first division status on the final day of last season. They beat MTK in week 33 of the 2015/16 campaign. The 2-0 win meant that Puskas Academy were relegated to the second division.

The Budapest club extended manager Michael Oenning's contract, which also saw several players leave the club over the summer. They included Milos Adamovics, Gál Mátyás, Grúz Tamás, Hermány Bence, Christian Müller and Danijel Romic. Arrivals included former Vidi player Tamas Vasko, Felix Burmeister and James Manjrekart. Keeper Vukasin Polekszic also came in on a loan deal.

Pre-season started on the 6th June, which also included two training camps in Hungary and Austria. 11 friendly matches were played with 7 wins, 2 draws and 2 defeats. There was an easy 27-0 thrashing of Komarom county side Almafuzito. Remili Mohamed helped himself to 8 of those goals!

The new season kicked off with a 1-0 away win at MTK. That was followed by a 3-1 home victory over Debrecen. That sees them sitting nicely at the top of the league table as they go into Sunday's game. Vasas lined up most recently: Poleksic - Szivacski, Korcsmár (Vaskó), Debreceni, Ristevski, Hangya, Vida, Berecz (Manjrekar), Remili, Pavlov, Ádám (Novák).
