Kastrati scored for the first against the Croatian third place side at the end of the first half and Kodro scored the second at the end of the match.
Our team played their third summer preparation game on Saturday afternoon, in Muraszentmárton, Croatia, close to the Hungarian-Slovenian-Croatian triple border, against NK Osijek, who finished the last season in third place in the Croatian league and will also play in the qualifying round of the Europa Conference League.
Head coach Bartosz Grzelak sent out the starting eleven of Kovács D. - Csongvai, Larsen, Spandler, Zeke - Pinto, Bambock - Kastrati, Houri, Schön - Katona,. However, Deybi Flores and Tobias Christensen are still on holiday after their national team appearances, while Attila Fiola, Levente Szabó, Palkó Dárdai and Emil Rockov were absent due to injury and rehabilitation.
The first chance came in the 6th minute when Katona curled a shot over the goal from the sixteen-yard box. The first 20 minutes were dominated by the combative nature of the game, and in the 22nd minute, Croatia's Jugovic's sent his effort over the top, before a break for a drink.
In the 25th minute, the referee failed to award a penalty for a push on Houri, and shortly afterwards at the other end Caktas fired in a shot from a sharp angle but missed the target. In the 42nd minute we took the lead: Csongvai's shot rebounded off a defender's hand, but our team kept the ball and Kastrati shot into the right side of the goal with his left foot (0-1)! With this goal we went into the break with a one-goal lead.
At the break our head coach did not make any substitutions, in the minutes after the kick-off Lovric and Caktas threatened with shots, but the former's attempt was missed and the latter's was blocked. In the 56th minute, Omerovic's cross could have created a threat in front of our goal, but fortunately no Croatian player was on the end of it. In the 58th minute, we came close to doubling our lead through a shot from Houri, but the goalkeeper saved a brilliant shot from our midfielder.
In the 63rd minute, Kodro was the first substitute for our team, and after that we kept sending on substitutes. Again, young players like Bence Kovács, Milán Pető and Zsombor Menyhárt were given a chance. Although the Croatians attacked more, they did not create any really dangerous chances thanks to our good defence. In the second half, Schön's shot at goal was just wide, but in the 90th minute we closed the game: Zeke gave the ball and Kodro connected with the ball and it went into the net (0-2)!
This was our team's second win in their third training match, as we won 2-0 against Dunaújváros in the midweek match.
