Three-goal win in the friendly match against Domzale

Kodro scored from both a penalty and open play while Houri made it 3-0 in our third training match in Croatia.

In their third training match in Croatia, our team played against the three-time champions NK Domzale, fifth in the Slovenian top flight, at the Porec training centre, which also hosted the first training match against Hajduk Split, but this time on a different pitch.

Our coaching staff sent the starting line-up of Kovács D. - Nego, Larsen, Stopira, Heister - Christensen, Pokorny - Kastrati, Houri, Dárdai - Kodro. In the 2nd minute, Barisic stepped up after a clearance but hit the post from a sharp angle. After more than ten minutes of play without any major chances, Dárdai's 15-metre shot was saved by the Slovenian goalkeeper. In the 25th minute Offenbacher's long-range effort missed the target and in the 28th Kovacevic, who had gotten hold of the ball was unable to finish effectively.

At the end of the counter-attack, Kastrati could not find the net from close range, but Kodro was fouled and the penalty was awarded and the forward picked himself up to slot the ball into the middle of the goal (1-0). In the last ten minutes, Dárdai came close twice, first with a ball that spun towards the goal, then his 16-metre shot was cleared by Mulasic at the bottom left, and we went into the break with a one-goal lead.

We didn't make any substitutions at half-time, and this time the starting eleven stayed on the pitch for 90 minutes. In the 52nd minute, Christensen's pass allowed Dárdai to try from the left wing, but the ball went wide of the goal. In the 54th minute, Dárdai's pass to Kodro was saved by the goalkeeper, but a minute later he was helpless as Kastrati's pass from the right was met by Kodro's shot into the right side of the goal (2-0).

In the 68th minute, Dárdai peeled his way through the Domzale defenders with a fine dribble and passed to Houri, who slotted the ball into the net from a few metres out (3-0). In the 72nd minute, Dárdai's shot from the left was blocked with his back to the Slovenians, and in the 78th, Pisek's 35-metre free-kick bounced close to the goal. In the 80th minute we came close to a fourth goal, Heister played in Kodro from the goalline, but his shot was saved by the goalkeeper. In the last ten minutes, Pisek's free-kick and a long-range shot over the top of the bar were the only events of the game, but the result remained the same, we won 3-0.

Our team will play their last friendly match of the training camp, which will last until Friday, on Thursday at 15:30 against Radnicki Beograd from Serbia.
