Gábor Boér and Tamás Feczkó assessed Monday evening's season opening match, which ended in victory for the visitors.
Gábor Boér:
"Congratulations to Honvéd, they deserved to win and played above the level of the division tonight. They put us under absolute pressure in the first 15 minutes, from which we were unable to recover, and we ended up conceding a goal. They had set pieces, chances and opportunities. Many of our players were new to the atmosphere of league football and the number of minutes spent on the pitch, as they had had fewer chances in recent games. It was clear that the young players needed time to get into the rhythm of the game, we made a lot of technical mistakes and made errors that affected the game. We were prepared to avoid losing the ball in midfield, but we repeatedly made these mistakes and often had to defend backwards. Today, only our fans rose to the occasion, creating an atmosphere worthy of the NB I, for which we thank them. We will try to repay them with results and good play in the next matches."
Tamás Feczkó:
"From the very first second, we dominated the pitch. We started the match very well, with three chances in the first eight minutes. I'm very happy that we took the lead from a set piece, but I feel that something was missing in the second part of the first half. After going 2-0 up, we didn't have as much possession as we would have liked, and the home side imposed their will on us. We sorted things out during the break, and in the second half, our victory was never in danger. We saw a lot of good performances on the pitch, which is why we came here to leave with three points, and I'm proud that even after the 90th minute, we kept pushing forward to score another goal. I think our attacking play and our defense were very positive.
