The views of the two managers

Csertoi felt that the belief was missing from his side

Gyorgy Mezey: "Haladas defended heroically and with concsience. They came back into the game after the equaliser and came forward bravely. It was not an easy win today, even if many thought it would be simple to collect three points against the bottom side. I have learned while sitting on the bench, in my managerial career, that in these types of games, you need to concentrate the most. If we look at last seasons championship, it was the points lost to the smaller sides that cost us first place. Anything can happen in a match, but the expected wins are always the hardest, and require far more concentration. Perhaps the  team looked a bit tense in the first half, as they could feel that they had to win the match. Reflecting back on Haladas, I feel that their present position is unrealistic, and they are a good mid-table side. They have not had the best of luck so far, but it is visible that they have the will to continue and the strength as well. Andre Alves did the business and scored wonderful goals as well. Sadly, whatever variations I try to get the team to play, it appears that Nikolics, Vujovics and Lencse have not risen up to it, which means that they carry a larger burden. I am waiting for them sooner or later to make the steps forward needed."

Csertői Aurél: "We went behind fairly early on it the match, but I felt that the team kept together despite that. We tried to play football, and did not play that badly in parts. We managed to equalise at the start of the second half, which showed this. However, the players need to have far more belief in themselves, in order to be able to win in a game like this. The problem today was that only I had the belief that we could win. At the same time, it is pointless building up attacks in our play, and getting towards the other goal, and creating chances, if at the same time, and now in a series, we are conceding goals from individual mistakes. We cannot prepare beforehand for these. I felt that despite the defeat, we were a match for Videoton, who are one of the title contenders, and as I have already said, we played well in parts and looked dangerous."
