The views of the two managers

Both managers spoke after the Vidi-MTK game

Gyorgy Mezey: "It was a real tough match with plenty of battles in it, but this is what I was counting on beforehand. We had a difficult task in front of us, as I know Jozsef Garami, and his MTK side are never easy to beat. If we could have converted any one of the chances that we created in the first 20 minutes, we could have gone on to win more easily. In the end we were made to fight for the three points. I could see in my players that they were ready to scrap and battle, so I was sure inside, that we would win today's match. We managed to come back from a goal down to win, but I do not think this is anything special, and it is all part of football. What bothered me was the fact that we missed several chances, while MTK scored from the only one that they created in the first half. I am sure that in most of the games we play over the spring season, our opponents will put a defensive wall in front of their goal. We will need to learn how to break through these. Every win means a great deal at this stage of the season. We have had games, and we will have matches like these in the future, when we will have to battle and fight in a match, as we had to today with MTK."

Jozsef Garami: "Videoton put us under a lot of pressure in the first 15 minutes, and we were not able to pass the ball as well as we should. I felt that things were starting to improve just before we scored the opening goal. We then went on to play with calm following our goal. The match was fairly balanced at that point, and this carried on into the second half. To concede a goal right on half time is never good for any side. That is when we lost this match, just when I was thinking that we would not lose this match. I do not feel that there was a foul leading up to Elek's goal, and the influence of the referee played a part in the final result of the match. I was also not satisfied with the football we played over the last 10 minutes. Videoton were creating more chances at this stage of the game. This defeat is difficult to swallow, although if  I can see my team trying, then it is much easier to digest."
