The team and supporters were fantastic in Bratislava

The club's Honorary President was very pleased with what he saw in the first leg

Videoton participated in the 1976/77 UEFA cup, where they drew 1-1 away at FC Wacker Innsbruck, before winning the return leg 1-0. Videoton's manager back then was Ferenc Kovacs, who is now the club's Honorary President. He was present at the first leg 1-1 draw in Bratislava on Thursday.

- The fact that we scored an away goal, and did not lose the game is advantageous for us. We were very together and disciplined, and the team played tactically. Despite the fact that we played away in Slovan, they did not dictate play whatsoever. It is very important to mention the fantastic backing that the supporters produced, who never stopped supporting their team. They played a very big part that we managed to produce a good result. I am really looking forward to Thursday's return leg. I feel that the second leg will have goals in it. I feel that with our squad, we are stronger than the Slovakian team, and with the 1-1 away draw, we will have to do whatever it takes to go through to the next round. I am sure that there will be many supporters in the stadium, and I would even risk saying that the game could be played in front of packed stands. - said Ferenc Kovacs to the club's website.
