The Austrian training camp comes to an end with a draw

Vidi and Banik Ostrava shared a 1-1 draw on Thursday. Mate Patkai scored the goal for the red and blues.

The final friendly of the Austrian training camp saw MOL Vidi FC play Czech side Banik Ostrava, who most recently finished in 5th place in their domestic league.

Manager Marko Nikolic fielded a side that consisted of players that did not play in yesterday's win over Wolfsberg. The team was: Tujvel - Fiola, Vinícius, Elek, Stopira - Nego, Nikolov, Pátkai - Kovács I., Scsepovics, Hodzic. Milan Baros took his place on the bench having been most remembered for being top goalscorer in the 2004 EC.

The first save of the match was from Tujvel in the Vidi goal. Helesic crossed from the left and a close range shot from Sasinka was saved on 10 minutes. Vidi took the lead after 18 minutes: The ball was won in midfield and Scepovic had two passes blocked but the forward still had possession and he played in Kovacs, who centred for Mate Patkai to score from 3 meters (1-0).

Hodzic tried his luck from distance after 36 minutes, which surprised Lastuvka, but the experienced keeper was able to comfortably collect it. A minute later and a cross from Helesic saw Diop just fail to connect with the ball. Granecny got hold of the ball after 43 minutes inside our half, and he took the ball forward but his shot came off Vinicius and went out for a corner. There were no further chances in the first half and Vidi went in at the break with a single goal lead.

There was not too much excitement in the opening 15 minutes of the second period. Scepovic found the bar following a good move after 63 minutes, but the assistant referee lifted his flag for offside. Hruby stood behind the ball for a free kick for the opponents after 70 minutes but Tujvel was in the right place to deal with the shot

Vidi had a move 9 minutes later, which ended on the edge of the box. Stopira tried to send a sharp ball in but Lastuvka saved well. Hruby had a better chance on goal after 81 minutes and this time his low shot went into the back of the net 1-1. Fiola had a shot from 18 meters shortly after but it went across the goal. Nego had a chance before full time, but instead of shooting chose to pass to Scepovic, who was offside. The match ended with the final score at 1-1.
