The 43rd Videoton - Vasas game awaits on Sunday

Sunday will see the 85th first division game between the two clubs. The first match was back on the 3rd March 1968, when Vidi travelled to Budapest and suffered a heavy 6-1 defeat. Laszlo Csukovics scored the visitors goal that day. Vidi have gone on to win 25 of the 84 games to date. There have been 30 draws and 29 defeats. Videoton also enjoy a better overall goal difference of 119-110. Sunday's match will be the 43rd game at the Sostoi stadium. Vasas have gone home with maximum points 4 times, while 16 have been drawn and an impressive 22 wins recorded for the boys from Fehervar. 

Sunday's opponents have played 6 league games over the spring season winning just one of those. That came on their home pitch in a 3-2 win over ZTE. The other 5 have seen the Angyalfold side leave the pitch pointless. There have been big changes for the Budapest side over recent days. A new owner has taken over, and former manager Marijan Vlak has returned in place of Florian Urban. It is interesting to note that the autumn Vasas - Vidi league match saw Vlak manage the home side, in what was a 0-0 draw at the Illovszky stadium.

Vlak wasn't the only one to return to his former club. Former Vidi captain Balazs Farkas and Peter Simek have been training with their reserve side of late, but according to reports, the pair will now link up once more with the senior side. There is also a good chance that the pair may feature in the 16:00pm kick off.
