Roland Szolnoki took time out to reflect on the season just ended
Roland Szolnoki became a regular starter for the first team, missing just one of the final thirteen league games of 2012. His performances helped him into the U21 squad, where he represented Hungary in two qualification games. Szolnoki played in his usual right back position in the U21 sides 1-0 win over Turkey, as well as in the 4-0 away win over Liechtenstein.
"We scored the most goals and conceded the least amount over the spring season, which I believe confirms the state of the team. We have said many times that it was down to the winter pre-season preparation. That helped us produce a great spring season, and we were very together in both our defending and attacking play in all of the matches. It was down to some good fortune that I made it into the starting line up in one of our practice games in Turkey. I then went on to play throughout the spring season. I had games were I felt I played well, while there were also matches were I could have done better. Let's just say that there is always room for improvement. I will be focusing on this in order that I get to play in as many games as possible. We will do everything we can over the next season to come out on top. However, before we begin the league, we have the Europa league to concentrate on, where we would like to reach the group stage. Our series of games begins fairly quickly, which is not that bad in the sense that it will not be that hard to be at 100% both physically and in our heads, following a couple weeks break. I will get the chance to rest a little from the 6th June following the two games with the U21. I plan to spend it with my family and girlfriend over the remaining two weeks" - said Roland Szolnoki.
