Solymosi will referee Saturday's home match with Kecskemet

The match official from Veszprem was recently involved in Vidi's 4-1 win over Paks

Peter Solymosi will referee Saturday's OTP league match with Kecskemet. The match official from Veszprem is 40 years old. He began his career by playing at a very young age, before passing his refereeing course in 1995.

Vidi will be looking to pick up maximum points against a side, which has not won since the second week of the season. He made his debut in a youth game in the autumn of 1997, between Varpalota and Badacsonytomaj. The experienced official then quickly made his way to the senior level and third division football. Solymosi first took control of a first division game in 2002. That was in a match between MTK and Matav Sopron. He was the official in last season's 3-0 Vidi home win over Debrecen. He was also handed, perhaps the toughest fixture in Hungarian football last autumn, when he took charge of the Ujpest vs Ferencvaros derby match. He has also been appointed referee in two of Videoton's games last season. Those were the game with ZTE, and the away match at Haladas, which ended in a 2-0 win for the home side. He was most recently the referee for the 4-1 home win over Paks.

Saturday's game will kick off at 20:00pm and the referee will be assisted by Peter Berettyán and Krisztian Király, with the additional officials being Jozsef Erdős and Adam Radványi. Fourth official will be Oszkár Lemon.
