Single goal defeat at the home of Ferencvaros

Vidi lost 1-0 away at FTC on Saturday evening.

Match 21 of the OTP league season saw Vidi make the visit the Groupama Arena. The second game of the season against Ferencvaros was also the 100th match between the two in the first division.

Manager Joan Carrillo had to do without Krisztian Geresi and Szabolcs Huszti. Also out were Boban Nikolov, Loic Nego, Adrian Rus, Paulo Vinicius and Attila Fiola. The starting eleven were: Kovácsik - Hangya, Juhász, Musliu, Stopira - Pátkai, Elek - Petryak, Kovács I., Houri - Hodzic.

Ferencvaros had the same team starting as most recently against Honved: Dibusz - Lovrencsics, Blazic, Otigba, Civic - Sigér, Kharatin - Isael, Nguen, Zubkov - Boli. Somália and Kvarka were not included in the squad while Dvali has also not featured for the home side for a while now. It was Vidi that had the first chance of the game after 3 minutes: Petryak hit a left footed shot from 18 meters, which was collected by Dibusz. Not long after, an Isael cross was punched out by Kovacsik before Elek cleared the danger. The action continued with Tokmac Nguen shooting after 15 minutes, which Kovacsik again saved. This time Stopira was on hand to clear. A Civic shot for FTC on 18 minutes rebounded off a defender and into the side netting.

Tokmac was put through on 20 minutes and shot under pressure from Musliu, with the ball coming back off the post. Hodzic received a good pass after 21 minutes and he fed Houri with the ball, before finding Houri, but he could not direct his left footed shot on goal and it went wide.

Isael laid the ball on to Zubkov with 32 minutes played, and his right footed shot from close range ended up being a pss as Elek got a foot to it and the chance passed. Musliu went into the book for a foul on Boli after 35 minutes, while the resulting free kick from 17 meters out by Isael changed direction and Kovacsik managed to get a hand to it, before the rebound was hit over.

Petryak was fouled by Otigba, who was already on a yellow after 47 minutes. However, the referee awarded only a free kick without showing the second yellow. Houri sent a high ball forward from a free kick, which Elek managed to flick on but it was saved by Dibusz.

It was Ferencvaros that scored the games only goal after 51 minutes. Tokmac received the ball and went down the left before playing the ball into the middle for Zubkov to connect with at the far post to make it 1-0. Vidi made their first change after 61 minutes with Hodzic coming off to be replaced by Nikolic. Referee Berke then showed a red card to club kitman Robert Lakatos, who was sitting on the bench, and he was sent to the dressing room. Isael showed trickery after 73 minutes and then fed the ball to Boli, but he could not direct the ball with power at goal and Kovacsik saved. Civic gained possession a couple of minutes later and shot at goal, but it went across the face of goal and Zubkov could not reach it at the far post.

Several substitutions took place between the 75th and 81st minute: Milanov came on for Houri while Tokmac was replaced by Varga for the green and whites. Botka also came on in place of Lovrencsics. A Zubkov effort after 82 minutes from 21 meters was punched away by Kovacsik. Futacs was the final player to come on for Petryak.

Elek battled for the ball with Varga after 87 minutes and the forward went down in the box. Berke awarded a penalty and also sent off Elek for his second yellow. Isael took the resulting penalty, but Kovasik got down well to deny him and save.

A Milanov corner after 94 minutes was eventually headed over the bar from 8 meters and the final whistle went. The home side collected the points with a 1-0 win.
