Pecs have been suffering with several problems over the winter pre-season break.
Pecs FC had a good autumn season, finishing the first half of the 2013/2014 season in seventh place. They are also still involved in both the Hungarian cup and League cup respectively. Despite the positive performances on the pitch, the sudden news in December plunged the club into uncertainty. Owner Dezso Matyi announced that he would no longer finance the football club and that he was looking to get out. That has so far not happened, but there have been departures from the club, which is based in southern Hungary. Key players like keeper Dibusz left to join Ferencvaros. Grumics headed east to link up with DVTK, while Eke Uzoma left the club.
The only signing has been Milan Perics, who has joined them from Videoton, and will spend the spring season on loan at Pecs. That has not stopped Pecs from enjoying a good pre-season, which has included 5 wins, 2 draws and a single defeat, with a goal difference of 21-8. One noticable result was their win over Croatian first division side Osijek, and a 3-2 victory over Ferencvaros. Videoton managed to beat Pecs in the autumn season with a 5-1 win over them at the Sostoi stadium.
