Videoton will play a regional representative XI at their training base in Brentonico
Paulo Sousa's new Videoton side will play their first pre-season friendly on Sunday evening, when the red and blues face an Italian regional representative XI, with kicks off at 18:00pm. The game will take place at the local sports ground, situated 10km for the team hotel, where Vidi have been training twice a day. We spoke to Paulo to find out what his views are on the friendly match. Is the result all important or is it all about match practice at the moment?
Paulo Sousa: "We need to keep progressing as a team and tomorrow's match will give me the chance to see the players do the things that we have practiced in training so far. I want to see the dynamics and both the individuality and quality of my players. We need to keep focused and only concentrate on ourselves. Practicing is very important at the moment, and I can say that I have been happy with the work and focus that the players have shown so far. Things are going well at the moment and the players are finding a nice balance between rest and work. There is nothing better than being away at a training camp at the moment. The players need to carry on giving the right effort and doing the things that I expect from them."
