The midfielder will remain in Szekesfehervar after lengthy negotiations
The future of Filipe Oliveira was one of the most interesting questions over the past few weeks for the supporters of Videoton. We are very pleased to announce that the midfielder, who spent the 2011-2012 season on loan with Vidi, has now signed a three-year deal after leaving Italian first division side Parma FC.
Oliveira was pleased to talk to vidi.hu: "I am very pleased that I will be continuing my playing career with Videoton FC, as I feel very good in the team and with my family we are happy in Szekesfehervar. There were lengthy and hard negotiations, which resulted in both sides agreeing. I would like to say thank you to everyone who took part in the talks between Parma and Videoton. I know that the supporters were interested in my fate over the last few weeks, which feels really good and I would like to thank them. Naturally I want to produce the best performance possible and repay the faith shown in me by the supporters and Videoton" said the midfielder.
Paulo Sousa was also pleased to give his thoughts following the contract signing: "They were very difficult negotiations on going, in order that Filipe would continue with us. He played a big role in things coming to an agreement in the end. I am very pleased that he will remain a player with our club. Now that his fate has been resolved, he needs to only concentrate on his own game, and hopefully produce even better performances than he has so far.
