Vidi beat ZTE 2-0 at the MOL Arena Sosto with the goals coming from Zivzivadze and Houri.
Match 12 of the OTP league saw Vidi take on ZTE FC at home. The visitors went into the game in 8th place while we were in third. Manager Gabor Marton chose the same side as a week ago when Vidi won 3-0 against DVTK: Rockov - Musliu, Stopira, Fiola - Bolla, Nego, Alef, Houri, Funsho - Zivzivadze, Nikolic.
The first chance of the game fell to the visitors after 2 minutes when Sankovic sent his shot at goal from 16 meters, which Rockov saved well. Then Musliu headed a Houri freekick at goal on 10 minutes, which was saved by Demjen. At the other end, Konyves shot from a tight angle and Rockov managed to deny him. The breakthrough arrived after 12 minutes: Houri got hold of the ball and played in Nikolic, who fed the ball to his left and into the path of Zivzivadze, who cut in to beat his man before hitting his shot low into the back of the ZTE net (1-0).
Vidi had another good chance a minute later when Funsho had the ball at his feet, but he sent his shot over the bar when well placed. A visiting defender did well to clear the danger as Nikolic was poised to score. Vidi extended the lead after 22 minutes: Funsho finding Houri, who played al lovely one-two with Nikolic before placing the ball under the bar to make it 2-0.
It nearly became three shortly after the red and blues went two up. Houri's corner was headed at close range by Musliu, but a defender dragged him to the floor with the referee waving play on.
There were no further dangerous moments in front of either goal in the remainder of the first half. Vidi went in at the break enjoying a 2-0 lead. Nikolic saw his free kick from just outside the box saved by Demjen as the second half began. The following 20 minutes saw the ball in the middle with the visitors trying to get back into the game without creating a chance. Vidi comfortably defended their two goal advantage.
Alef headed into the side-netting after 73 minutes after a corner. Stopira also flicked a chance over 10 minutes later after another corner. Nikolov sent a long range shot well over the bar on 86 minutes as Vidi saw the game out and collected 3 points to climb back into second place.
