Goals from Adam Simon and a penalty by Robert Feczesin secured Vidi the three points.
It was back to OTP league action at the Pancho Arena, just a few days after the painful cup exit. Filipe Oliveira had said in an interview on Friday that the most important task in the game with Haladas, was for the players to get over the defeat and concentrate fully on the league game.
The team managed to do this very well, which also saw Vidi take the lead after 10 minutes. Haraszti took the first corner of the game, passing it to Oliveira, who took the ball into the box, before shooting at goal from a tight angle from 8 meters, with Simon also touching the ball on the way into the goal (1-0). That was the midfielder's first league goal in a Vidi shirt, and the goal came against his former club.
Simon was again in the thick of the action on 13 minutes, showing good skill to shoot at goal from 17 meters, but the ball went wide of the post. Haladas then attacked at the other end. Ugrai curled a ball towards goal after a free kick, with several players running in to meet the ball, but none of them could make contact, and the ball was collected by keeper Kovacsik. A cross on 29 minutes floated over keeper Kovacsik, and a visiting player at the far post scooped the ball back in, but just as a Haladas player was waiting to pounce, Juhasz intercepted with a well-timed header to clear the danger.
The action continued after 36 minutes when Oliveira sent in a cross, which Tischler headed back to the middle, but Haraszti's close range cross went the wrong side of the post.
The sides went in at the break with Vidi leading by a single goal. Haladas had more of the ball at the start of the second half, although they could not create a serious chance on goal until the 65th minute. The Szombathely side gained hold of a loose ball and hit a quick counter attack, which ended with Sasa Popin having a clear chance on goal, which he made no mistake with to level the score at 1-1. A visiting player then handled inside the box, following a cross in from Stopira. Referee Istvan Vad pointed straight at the spot. Robert Feczesin stood behind the ball and made no mistake as he converted the penalty to put Vidi 2-1 up. Batarelo got hold of the ball after 77 minutes, before hitting a powerful shot from 25 meters, which came back off the post.
There was no further action of real note in the remaining 10 minutes. The final whistle blew and Vidi collected 3 good points to return to a top three position. Videoton will next be in action on Wednesday evening when they travel to play DVTK
