Marko Nikolic: We were clever, sharp and tactically disciplined

The two managers shared their thoughts on Saturday's OTP league match.

Marko Nikolic:

"We picked up 3 points in an important game by being clever, sharp and tactically disciplined. I would like to congratulate my players. We knew that it would be a difficult game as I consider Vasas to be a good side. Matches against them in recent seasons have not gone too well for Vidi. All the players that were out there on the pitch played with big energy and we deserved the win. I would like to wish Vasas the best of luck for the remainder of the season. They are a club with big traditions. I would like to thank the supporters that followed us in large numbers to Budapest. They created plenty of energy just as was the case on the pitch."

The journalists asked the manager about the pressure on his side on being top of the table.

"I have spoken about this earlier but I will say it again now that anyone who plays football without pressure is in the wrong place. This means that he has nothing to battle for. You have to enjoy these situations. I could see in my team that they have the confidence and that is very important as we come towards the end of the season. I would also like to point out that we have only conceded 4 goals over the spring season. I can also say that virtually everyone has found the back of the opponents net. The spirit within the team is our strength and this is what we stand on. We also have that individual quality but this is a team sport. This is not tennis and we really do play as a team."

Michael Oenning:

"Today's game did not go in the best way. I would like to congratulate Vidi for the win. They went into the game as league leaders and took an early lead. I cannot say too many bad things about my own team. We know the situation we are in and we will need to move everything we have. We still managed to play with stability and the game was open in the first half. Our opponents won and the question regarding relegation will go down to the last minute. We do not have to pick ourselves up as we have a game against Haladas next week and we need to keep the three points."
