Juan Calatayud: I am planning long term with Vidi

- You signed a contract extension at the beginning of March with Vidi. You will now remain in Szekesfehervar until the summer of 2015. This suggests that everything at Vidi is as you imagined when you came here last summer?

Yes, I have joined a perfect club, where I feel really good. My family now live here with me in Hungary, and they also feel really good in this country. This is why I had no thoughts about whether to accept the contract extension or not. I was very happy to sign it. The people here are really nice, which perhaps was the most surprising. Many people stop me in the street, and they all have a good word or two with me, which is really nice. The club really does everything to make sure that all we have to do is simply concentrate on playing football.

- There were news reports suggesting that Malaga had come looking for you, and that you would sign for them in the summer, which sounded somewhat obvious, as you had played for them, and you are still very popular in Malaga. This could be seen at the training camp in January, at the Malaga - Valencia match. Was there any truth behind their interest?

Actually I only know as much as what was written in the papers. There were no concrete offers. I do not even deal with reports like this, as the most important for me is to be successful with Videoton, and to win the league title. I really do feel good at the football club, and I am thinking long term. 

- Győr will visit the Sostoi at the weekend. What kind of match are you counting on?

This will be our first home league game of the spring, and we really want to win it. I am sure that it will be a difficult match, as Győr have also been suffering with a lack of form, but we will not be focusing on the opponents. Our only aim is to get the three points!

- You have been a Videoton player for almost nine months, and played against all of the other first division sides. What is your opinion of Hungarian football? Is it better or worse than you thought?

The pace and game is much quicker than I had originally counted on. There are some clubs who stand out from the competition. Naturally you cannot compare the Hungarian league with the Spanish one, but there are still many talented youngsters in Hungary. I was nicely surprised by the level of the football in Hungary.
