Istvan Kovacs signs new contract deal with Videoton

The international midfielder has extended his contract, which was due to end next summer.

István Kovács joined Videoton FC on the 18th January 2012. He was a member of the title winning side as well as the Vidi team that finished second. Kovacs made his international debut for Hungary and also played European football for Vidi. He has made 113 appearances in the colours of Vidi, scoring 14 goals in the first division.

"I would first of all like to thank the owner, Istvan Garancsi, and director of football, Zoltan Kovacs, who made this contract extension possible. I have been a member of the Vidi family for quite a while now, so I know the feeling involved with being a player for the Szekesfehervar club. I also know what it means to represent the club both on and off the pitch. I will do all I can to repay the faith shown in me with this contract extension, and I would like to be a role model for my team mates and the youth players coming through the system. It is also important for me to show what I can do to both the supporters and the management of the football club, as well as the coaching staff" - said Istvan Kovacs after signing his new deal.

We would like to wish Koko the very best in his continued career with Vidi!
