The two managers shared their thoughts shortly after the final whistle.
Imre Szabics:
We expected a tough match, and it was. We are very happy that we won our last home game and are now top of the domestic table. We wanted to give our fans three points before Christmas and I'm happy that we did that. I think Mezőkövesd are a good NB I team, the three central midfielders caused us some serious problems as their rotation had to be neutralised and of course Tamás Cseri's game is something every team has to watch out for. I must admit we had a bit of luck and Dani Kovács made a great save. We have won our last five home games and we are positive about the future. Of course I wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. I think our home performance was okay, but we obviously need to improve our away record in 2022.
Attila Supka:
We were prepared for Vidi, we knew we had to watch out for their fast players like Petryak and Dárdai, and we also watched out for their key players when they were bringing the ball out. Vidi's goal was scored after a terrible mistake, because we shouldn't let the opponent head away a ball like that, we simply didn't pick people up well. We were not brave enough in the first half, we asked at the break to change that and look for the gaps that could create scoring opportunities. We had chances, I saw good things from the team. Everyone gave their best but we couldn't get the equaliser. Overall, I think we should have left Fehérvár with a point tonight.
