Our team fought hard to keep the three points at home in Saturday's league match, thanks to Roland Varga's header in the 44th minute.
Our team took on Szeged-Csanád Grosics Akadémia, currently fourth in the Merkantil Bank Liga NB II table, at the Sóstói Stadium in the 11th round of the season. Gergő Kocsis was suspended, while Benedek Murka, Patrik Kovács, and Zsombor Menyhárt were out with muscle injuries. Head coach Gábor Boér sent Nagy G., Kojnok, Papp, Spandler, Nagy D., Ominger, Kovács B., Varga, Horváth T., Zsótér, and Németh onto the pitch as the starting eleven.

In the 6th minute, Kurdics tried a shot from the left, but aimed too high, then in the 10th minute, Novák's header was cleared over the bar by Nagy. In the 15th minute, Márkvárt's shot posed no threat to our goal, then at the other side, Tamás Horváth's cross was cleared for a corner by the visitors. Miskolczi's 20-meter shot was cleared from danger by Nagy in the 22nd minute, following a corner, Novák headed over from close range.
In the second part of the first half, Veszelinov saved Zsótér's 28-meter shot, and three minutes later, our midfielder tried again, but Veszelinov made a brilliant save to tip the ball over the bar. In the 30th minute, Nagy made a very smart save from Holman's shot, and did well to deny Novák's header. The end of the half went very well for us: in the 44th minute, after Kojnok's cross from the right, Varga flicked the ball nicely into the right side of the goal, giving our team the lead (1-0)! After the break, our team controlled the game, but in the 54th minute, after a nice play, we were unable to finish a dangerous attack with a shot on goal. In the 57th minute, we made our first substitution, with Tiefenbach replacing Bence Kovács, who was making his first appearance in a competitive match for Vidi. In the 58th minute, Dániel Nagy shot over the bar, then in the 65th minute, Zsótér tried a volley, but Veszelinov saved. In the 67th minute, we could have doubled our lead: after a cross from the left by Varga, Németh received the ball in a scoring position, but shot just centimeters wide of the right post. At the other end, Kurdics shot over the bar, then Zsótér's attempt also went over the goal. In the 77th minute, at the end of an attack on the left, Kurdics shot over from a ball that had been played back to him, and in the 81st minute, Márkvárt missed the bottom right corner. In the 82nd minute, Roland Varga's shot missed Veszelinov's goal. Szeged tried in vain to equalize, but our players defended well and fought hard, preventing our opponents from creating any chances in the final minutes. Our team secured an important 1-0 victory over Szeged thanks to Roland Varga's header. Next Wednesday, we will play our next match at Majosi SE in the MOL Hungarian Cup.
