The two managers spoke to the media shortly after the final whistle on Saturday.
Henning Berg:
Naturally I am very pleased with the win and we picked up a good result. I hope that the supporters enjoyed what they saw and the way we played. We had the strength, speed and quality and we created chances and scored goals. The players were not affected by the opening goal from FTC, but instead went forward with great attitude, which they deserve credit for. We conceded the goal following a corner, which was given despite Marko Scepovic moments earlier racing at goal and he would have been one on one with the keeper, before falling to the ground. From where I was watching, it looked like a foul and a red card. However, I have not yet seen the replay. We had 10 players on the pitch due to this incident at the time of the corner. We did not pick up well but we continued playing well and the goals came. We do not have to go into detail about the importance of the game and the win. We are really looking forward to next weeks game. It will be a huge event for Hungarian football and the season will be decided then. We know that a draw will not be enough, so despite having scored more goals and also having a better record in games against them, we need to win next week. The team have handled the pressure well until now. We always knew what Honved did in their games, and then went out and won our own game. Our play continues to develop and we understand each other better all the time. Our general play continues to improve and we want to continue this against Honved. They play a different style of football than FTC, but I am sure that it will be an exciting game in which we really want to win!
Thomas Doll:
I would like to congratulate Vidi who deserved their win. You could see that several elements of their game was better than our own. Videoton really wanted it and we did not play well. They are fighting for the league title, so it was a little bit of a surprise to go ahead. Some of our players lacked the dynamic side to their game as well as the strength to determine games such as this. We need to try and get some of those injured players back and build them into our team. They need to rediscover the tempo in their game. We had players out there on the pitch who have been battling with long term injuries. Naturally they were unable to play for the entire 90 minutes, which is why we looked the way we did today. We need to think clearly as we continue. We will have a game against Ujpest next week and then a cup final to play. We cannot dig our heads in the sand. We need to believe in ourselves but you can see that you cannot win a game playing at 70%.
