Greek match officials for the Sporting match

Videoton play their final match of the Europa league group stages on Thursday evening

Videoton travel to Sporting Lisbon for their crucial final group match, which takes place on Thursday evening. Greek referee Mihalisz Kukulakisz, who is 37 years old, will officiate the match in Portugal. He was the man in the middle when Hungarian side Ujpest played Steaua Bucharest, back in 2009, which saw a player sent off from each side. The Romanian side emerged 2-0 winners in the end on an eventful evening, which included crowd trouble. He is a pharmacist in his civilian life, and joined the FIFA group of match officials in 2008. Kukulakisz most recently refereed the Steaua - Stuggart match, which ended 5-1 to the German side. He was also the match official for the Bern - Liverpool 3-5 game in the Europa league. Perhaps it is a good sign that both the away sides won those matches, when the Greek official was the referee. He will be assisted by Dimitriosz Szaraidarisz and Michael Karsziotisz, with the fourth official being Krisztosz Baltasz.
