Vidi remain top of the league despite going down 2-0 to Ujpest on Saturday.
Match 7 of the league season saw Ujpest FC visit the MOL Arena Sosto. Vidi went into the game having not lost to the Budapest side at home for 12 seasons.
Marko Nikolic had to do without Szilveszter Hangya, who picked up a slight knock and Daniel Zsori and Georgi Milanov also were not available. The starting line-up was: Kovácsik - Nego, Juhász, Musliu, Stopira - Petryak, Nikolov, Huszti, Kovács I. - Hodzic, Futács. Ujpest had Antonio Perosevic and Robert Litauszki were both out while keeper Filip Pajovic was replaced in goal by David Banai. Manager Nebojsa Vignjevic fielded the following eleven: Banai - Balázs B., Heris, Ristevski, Burekovic - Onovo, Sankovic - Simon K., Nwobodo, Pauljevic - Feczesin. There was a minutes silence before the kick off in honour of Vidi legendary player Gabor Horvath who sadly passed away during the week.
The game was 2 minutes old when Simon found Obinna with a pass and the visiting team were unlucky not to go ahead as Musliu cleared ahead of Feczesin. Simon raced onto a chance but Kovacsik pulled off a very good save. We then had to wait a further 15 minutes for the next chance and again it was to the visiting team. Krisztian Simon sent a shot from 22 yards into the arms of Kovacsik.
Petryak did really well with some lovely movement to play the ball to Futacs on 23 minutes. He controlled it and held off Heris before shooting from 18 meters. Keeper Banai got a hand to it and the ball bounced off the bar. Vidi were enjoying plenty of the ball during this period of the match. However, it was Ujpest who almost stole the lead after 35 minutes. Feczesin saw his shoot go just past the left post.
The first moment of worth in the second half came when Sankovic pulled back Petryak and he was shown the yellow card. Then with 56 minutes on the clock, Kovacs turned two defenders and cut the ball back into the centre, which bounced just in front of Hodzic, and his left foot shot went across the face of the goal. Futacs was replaced by Patkai after the hour mark and Huszti and Ristevski both entered the referee's notebook after 64 minutes when they saw yellow. Patkai was another to be cautioned shortly after as the game appeared to be heading for a goaless draw.
Huszti suffered an injury after 70 minutes and he was forced to come off and be replaced by Pantics. The breakthrough came for the visitors on 81 minutes. Onovo pounced on a ball behind the defence and slipped the ball beyond Kovacsik to make it 0-1. Kovacs came off to be replaced by Hadzic. Nikolov put a free kick into the middle four minutes later, which was headed wide by Juhasz.
Ujpest extended their lead close to the end when Simon sent a low cross in from the right and Feczesin was waiting at the far post to convert the ball into the back of the net 0-2. The win saw Ujpest move up to 5th in the table while Vidi remain top.
