Gabor Hartyani's side produced a good second half performance
Gabor Hartyani's Videoton B side, which plays in the domestic second division, fought out a creditable pre-season draw at first division Szolnok. They achieved this without three of their key players, with Papizsanszki, Babos and Mate all missing the friendly through injury. They may have a chance to feature in Saturday's friendly with Paks. The first half hour of this practice much was non eventful, with the game being played in the midfield areas. Szolnok had two loan players in their team from Ferencvaros, with Laszlo Fitos and Nikola Jakimovszki making up their numbers. Szolnok finished the autumn season at the bottom of the Monicomp first division table.
It was the home side who took the lead after 36 minutes. A corner from the right fell to one of their triallists, and Borisz Milicsics made no mistake from 12 meters out. Both managers made several changes at the break, with Gabor Hartyani emerging the better out of this. His side drew level after 53 minutes as they came back into the game. Margitics released Gyurcso on the right wing, and his cross was met by Mori, who shot at goal, but it was saved by Rezso in the Szolnok goal. However, the rebound fell kindly to Kobanyai, who made no mistake from close range. Vidi B then went on to create further chances, with Babos twice going close, but in the end the match ended all square.
Gábor Hartyáni : I was satisfied with the performance of the players and with the result as well. We managed to draw away at the home of a first division side. You could not see a difference between the two leagues on the pitch today. They were not stronger than us either. However, there is no time to pause as we have training sessions on both Thursday and Friday. We will then have another friendly match on Saturday against first division Paks. | ||
