In the 29th round of the OTP Bank Liga 2022/2023 season our team will play against DVSC in the Nagyerdei Stadion on Sunday at 15:30pm.
1. Overall record
Vidi and Loki are preparing for their 86th NB I match against each other, the all-time record is even, but in our team's favour: besides 35 wins in Fehérvár and 32 in Debrecen, there have been 18 draws. However, the goal difference is two in favour of our opponents on Sunday: we have scored 112 times and Debrecen 114 times, giving the fixture an average of 2.7 goals per game.
2. Biggest Vidi win
In the 85 top-flight matches played so far, we have managed to beat Debrecen twice by four goals. First in April 1983, when we won 4-0 with goals from Imre Vadász, György Novath, József Szabó and Tibor Nagy, and then in August 2016, when Ádám Lang and a Róbert Feczesin double as well as Krisztián Géresi scored, when we won 5-1.
3. Cup finalists against DVSC
In the past two decades we have played in several domestic cup finals against them, in 2008 we won the League Cup with a 3-0 aggregate score, but we also played three Super Cup and one Hungarian Cup final against them, of which the 2012 Super Cup final ended in a penalty shootout after 1-1, with Vidi winning.
4. Last Vidi treble against Debrecen
In the history of our club, we have managed to score at least three goals in a league match 25 times. The first was scored by Tibor Wollek in 1970 against Haladás, and the last one was scored by Marko Scsepovics in 2017 in a 5-2 win against DVSC. The Serbian striker struck in the 11th, 59th and 65th minutes of the match, scoring his third goal from a penalty.
5. The date: 30th April
Exactly one year before Sunday's game, on the 30th April 2022, our team played at Debrecen and Vidi, managed then by Michael Boris, scored goals from Nemanja Nikolics, Kenan Kodro and Loic Nego to win 3-0. In 2016, we also won 3-0 on the 30th April, with Nego, Patrik Tischler and our current sporting director Roland Juhász scoring at Újpest. In 2006, we lost 2-1 at home to DVSC, with Csaba Csizmadia scoring, while in 2005 we played a goalless draw in Békéscsaba.
Former players born on the day of the match against Debrecen include Gábor Takács, Gábor Toldi (who was also the head coach of both our first and second teams), Péter Finta, Tamás Koltai and Artur Papizsanszkij.
