The two manager's spoke to the media following the final whistle.
Ferenc Horváth: "It was a good match and we played with lots of discipline. The match went the way we had planned it to apart from the one error. Ferencvaros then had some big chances following that goal. They are a very good side but we were a match for them today, and we also had chances to score. I do not wish to deal too much with the match officials as everyone can make mistakes. However, it is worth thinking what would have been had we been awarded that penalty in the first half and the home side would have been down to ten men. Today's performance can give us a base in the matches to come. I would like to congratulate Ferencvaros!"
Thomas Doll: "The game was as difficult as we thought it would be before the game. We started well and things were fine in the first 10-15 minutes. We then lost our patience and easily gave the ball away, which meant that they hit us with attacks. This is what we wanted to avoid as Vidi have quick players that must not be given space to play in to. It was important that we went in at half time with the score at 0-0. We moved Zoltan Gera back a bit to play alongside Adam Nagy. That made our midfield more stable. Then both Rado and Varga pushed us up a level in the game. Both did well in one on one situations. We moved the ball about better in the second period and performed well. I am pleased that we showed once again that we found our way back in to the game."
